Take a beater 79-81 Firebird
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And install:
-Rebuilt 455 with ~650 hp
-Tremec TR6060
-70-73 nose
-70-73 seats (the kind with rows of stitching all the way across the cushion)
-Repaint black w/ red & gray chicken
-Black honeycomb wheels
-Shaker hood scoop
-T-tops of course!
Then in the end it should look something like this.

Why restyle the nose, the 79-81 nose is awesome. Making t-tops sounds like the worst idea ever. Everything else sounds good though.

I don’t think I’d cut into a solid roof, BUT I like the nose change out.

Make a legit turbo trans am, with a 455 turbo. Get the decals of the 1980 car. Get the early 70s formula ram air hood. Pro touring fbody suspension (subframe connectors are a must) and big brakes.

I’m on it! We’re waiting on the 455 as we speak. It’ll be an Olds mill, stalled TH400 and a built 8.5 with 4.10s. It was geared for a small block, but this should make for a fun light to light car. After that will be a full wrap color change.

You’d have to change the rear window glass to properly backdate it, but it could work.

Here’s my Firebird idea:
1. Take a ‘68 Firebird
2. Swap in a Saginaw 4-speed transaxle from a Tempest (coupled with Mk2 Corvair IRS and I think the beefier gearset from a Corvette fits...)
3. Hop up a Pontiac OHC inline 6
Scream around in a transaxled, IRS, overhead cam, inline 6 Pontiac Firebird. Aww yiss :)
